SPOKANE, Wash. -- Gonzaga men's tennis hosts Idaho on Tuesday and is looking for its fourth consecutive victory on the season after a strong showing last weekend.
"We are looking for to playing a good Idaho team at home," head coach Jonas Piibor said. "We were able to get a few matches in last weekend that helped us get ready for a tough stretch ahead against good competition."
Match Notes:
- Gonzaga is coming off of a pair of 7-0 sweeps over Seattle U on Saturday in a doubleheader.
- In its two matches against Seattle U, the Zags won every set that finished in both singles and doubles.
- Gonzaga has now won three straight matches for the second time this season. GU started the year 4-0, and then bounced back from two losses to win the last three.
- Sam Feit is 8-1 in dual-match play this season, splitting his time at No. 1 and No. 2 in the singles lineup. He's a team-best 15-4 on the year.
- Kyle Everly is also 8-1 in dual matches, splitting his time between Nos. 4, 5 and 6 in the GU lineup.
- The duos of Sam Feit/Ruadhan O'Sullivan and Hunter Egger/Kyle Everly have been solid in doubles play, going 5-2 in dual matches.
- Earlier this year, Gonzaga earned its first-ever program win against Boise State, coming on the road in a thrilling 4-3 victory.
- Gonzaga also was recognized with the No. 20-ranked recruiting class in the nation, the highest in program history.
- The Zags, under new head coach Jonas Piibor, got off to a program-best 4-0 start to the dual-match season.
