ABOUT THE REGATTA:
- The (RV) Gonzaga Bulldogs are heading back to the NCAA Championships for the fifth-straight year and sixth time in program history after their fifth-straight West Coast Conference Championship on May 18.
- The 2019 NCAA Championships will take place at the Indianapolis Rowing Center at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis, Ind. The event is hosted by Indiana University and the Indiana Sports Corp.
- The Bulldogs are one of 11 automatic qualifiers in the 22-team field. GU's varsity eight boat is seeded number 20, their second varsity eight and varsity four crews are seeded 21st.
- The Zags are receiving votes in the latest CRCA/US Rowing Coaches Poll.
- The varsity eight is in heat four on Friday against No. 12 Virginia, No .4 Washington, No. 5 Texas, No. 13 Wisconsin and No. 21 Northeastern at 6:36 am PST.  The Bulldogs raced Washington earlier this season, finishing four spots behind the Huskies in the second heat of the Jessop-Whittier Cup Invitational as part of the San Diego Crew Classic; the Bulldogs have not faced any of the other boats in the heat this spring.
- The second varsity eight will also face mostly new opponents Friday at 7:24 am PST. The 2V8s face No. 20 Rhode Island, No. 12 Indiana, No. 4 California, No. 5 Virginia, and No. 13 Harvard; the Bulldogs raced against Cal twice already this season, once at the San Diego Crew Classic and again at the Lake Natoma Invitational, with the Golden Bears sweeping.
- The varsity four is joined at 8:12 am PST by No. 20 Northeastern, No. 12 Indiana, No. 4 Ohio State, No. 5 Michigan and No. 13 Wisconsin.
- This will be the second time the Bulldogs have raced in the NCAA Championships in the state of Indiana. Gonzaga's first-ever trip to the NCAAs was back in 2013; that regatta was held at the same venue at Eagle Creek Park. That year, the Bulldogs finished 19th overall.

EVENT HISTORY:
- Last season, the Zags finished 18th overall, led by the varsity eight with a 17th-place finish. The second varsity eight and varsity four each took 19th.
- The Zags recorded their best finish in program history in 2016 at the NCAA Championships on Lake Natoma, finishing 16th overall with 45 points. The varsity eight had their best finish at the event, taking second in the C Final to finish 14th overall. The second varsity eight also had their best finish in NCAA Championships history, taking 16th after finishing fourth in the C Final. The varsity four took 19th after taking first in the D Final.
- The Zags had set a then-program record with a 17th place overall finish at the NCAA Championships in 2015 with 37 points. The varsity eight finished 15th and the second varsity eight took 19th, both records at the time.
- The varsity four's best finish came in 2013, their first appearance, when they took 16th overall and fourth in the C Final.  The Zags finished 19th overall that season with the varsity eight and second varsity eight taking 19th.
