SCOUTING THE RAMS:
- Colorado State's Bill Hempen won his 300th game Sunday, as the Rams held off SIU-Edwardsville.
- CSU completed the season opening weekend with two wins, which marks the best start to a season in the program's seven-year existence.
- Kristen Noonan, Caeley Lordemann and Kaitlyn Abrams all found the back of the net for Colorado State. Gabi McDonald made two saves in the Rams' net.
- Lordemann scored twice in CSU's season-opening 2-0 win over Marquette. McDonald recorded the shutout with four saves. Noonan had an assist in the victory.
- Colorado State was picked 10th in the 12-member preseason Mountain West Conference poll.
LOOKING AHEAD ... MONTANA:
- Gonzaga hosts Montana Sunday at 1 p.m.
- The Grizzlies have a 13-10-0 advantage in the all-time series, but GU has won 10 of the last 11 meetings, including the latest, 1-0, in Spokane in 2016.
- Montana tied its first two opponents this season, 1-1 at North Dakota State and 0-0 at North Dakota.
- The Griz play four road games to start the season, including at Washington State Thursday.
- Claire Howard has made four saves in the Montana net so far this season. Alexa Coyle has the lone UM goal.
- The Grizzlies were picked third in the Big Sky Conference preseason poll.
