Gonzaga’s Mark Few Joins NABC Board of Directors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (December 2, 2020) – Mark Few, head men's basketball coach at Gonzaga University, has accepted an invitation to join the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Board of Directors.
 
"Mark Few is one of the most important voices in our sport. His on-court accomplishments speak for themselves, and he has developed into an influential leader on issues that impact college basketball behind the scenes as well. He will be an asset to the NABC Board of Directors," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson.
 
In his 22nd season, Few has built one of college basketball most successful programs. The Zags, currently ranked second nationally in the coaches' poll, have been dominant, especially in the West Coast Conference. The Bulldogs have won or shared 19 regular season titles and 16 conference tournament titles in 21 seasons.
 
Gonzaga reached the NCAA Final Four in 2017 and also has three Elite Eight and nine Sweet 16 appearances in NCAA championship tournaments.
 
Few is currently the winningest active coach by percentage in NCAA Division I with a 601-124 won-lost record (.828).
 
About the National Association of Basketball Coaches
Located in Kansas City, MO, the NABC was founded in 1927 by Forrest "Phog" Allen, the legendary basketball coach at the University of Kansas.  Allen, a student of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, organized coaches into this collective group to serve as Guardians of the Game.  The NABC currently has nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men's basketball coaches.  All members of the NABC are expected to uphold the core values of being a Guardian of the Game by bringing attention to the positive aspects of the sport of basketball and the role coaches play in the academic and athletic lives of today's student-athletes.  The four core values of being a Guardian of the Game are advocacy, leadership, service and education.  Additional information about the NABC, its programs and membership, can be found at www.nabc.com.
