Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Gonzaga baseball wasn't able to get its offense going against No. 7 Arkansas on Saturday in a 5-0 loss in Fayetteville, Ark.
GU (2-5) managed just one hit against Arkansas (6-0) starter Patrick Wicklander over his 6.0 innings, and the Razorbacks posted five runs to keep enough distance.
For the Zags, starter
Alek Jacob was solid in his outing, allowing just three earned runs as an error cost GU two more during hits 5.2 innings. Reliever
Alec Gomez was solid in his 2.0 innings of relief, keeping Arkansas scoreless with just three hits and three strikeouts.
On offense, GU's
Ernie Yake and
Josh Bristyan collected the lone hits, both singles. Bristyan reached base three times with a walk and a hit by pitch.
Arkansas scored a run on an RBI single in the second and the score stayed that way until the Razorbacks got two in the fifth and then a two-run homer in the sixth to make it 5-0.
