MOSCOW, Idaho – Gonzaga's
Sammy Truax and
Evan Bates won their respective events at the D1 Team Invitational Challenge hosted by the University of Idaho Friday.
Inside the Kibbie Dome, Truax won the men's mile with a time of 4:17.13. Montana's Quincy Fast placed second at 4:17.97.
Riley Moore (4:19.64) and
Jonah Sandoval (4:19.73) crossed the line in sixth and seventh, while
Myles Bach (4:22.32) was ninth.
Brittney Hansen was ninth in the women's mile at 5:15.37.
Liz Hogan was 10
th at 5:17.78.
Lauren Krause was sixth in the women's 400 meters with a time of 62.19.
In the women's 800 meters,
Morgan Greene placed fifth crossing the line at 2:18.53. She moved from eighth to fourth on the program's all-time list.
Bates climbed from 10
th to sixth on GU's men's 800-meter all-time list. The freshman placed fifth with a time of 1:55.35.
Ben Hogan was ninth at 1:56.19, which ranks 10
th in program history.
Bates also won the 3,000-meter title with a time of 8:24.70. Tim Stevens of Idaho was second at 8:26.15.
Stefan Bradley (8:36.80) and
Matthew Roberts (8:39.03) were fifth and seventh.
Sam McCloughan was 10
th at 8:44.20.
In the women's 3,000 meters,
Emily Phelps and
Lilly Visser were seventh and 10
th at 10:24.03 and 10:33.08.
