VB: Zags Ink Grace Ehler for 2020 Season

Ehler is the fourth addition for the 2020 campaign

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga volleyball team signed Grace Ehler to a National Letter of Intent Tuesday afternoon as announced by Head Coach Diane Nelson. Ehler is the fourth addition to the Zags' roster for the 2020 campaign.

Grace Ehler | 6-2 | Outside Hitter | Tucson, Ariz. | Marana High School

Ehler will arrive at Gonzaga following a stellar four-year high school career at Marana High School in Tucson, Ariz. The 6-foot-2 outside hitter is a two-time First Team All-City and First Team All-Region selection as well as the 2017 Region Player of the Year and Region Offensive Player of the Year. Ehler led the Tigers in kills three-straight seasons, finishing her career with 815 total kills, and in 2019, she led the team in both kills (281) and aces (51). Ehler holds the school record for kills in a single match with 31, and she also led the region in hitting percentage during her junior season, hitting at a .307 clip.

Why Ehler chose Gonzaga: "I chose Gonzaga because of its welcoming, loving and supportive community. Gonzaga provides its students with an incredible atmosphere that breeds growth in not just sports, but all aspects of life. I also love that it's a small school with big school spirit! Competing in the WCC for a school that checks all these boxes is an opportunity I just couldn't pass up."

Coach Nelson on Ehler: "We are so fortunate to have Grace join our family. From the first phone call, she exhibited so many qualities that will guide her to success. She has the capacity to elevate Gonzaga volleyball during her career with her work ethic, maturity and drive to be great. I cannot wait to coach her!"
