CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — The Gonzaga women's golf trio of
Quynn Duong,
Federica Torre and
Cassie Kim were each named WGCA All-American Scholars for their work in the classroom during the 2019-20 academic year.
The three Zags were GU's most since 2007, while all three were underclassmen with Duong and Torre both sophomores and Kim a freshman.
Duong, from San Jose, Calif., posted a 3.62 grade-point average in sport management and is also working on a minor in psychology. She also earned Academic All-WCC and Gonzaga Dean's List honors. During the 2019-20 season, Duong played all six tournaments and was the Zags scoring leader at 72.60 strokes per round. She won the individual title at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, helped lead the team to tournament wins at both the Harbottle Invite and the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational. Duong posted four top-20 finishes on the year.
Torre, from Ronco Scrivia, Italy, posted a 3.53 GPA in sport management. She also earned Academic All-WCC and Gonzaga Dean's List honors. Torre played in all six events, ranking second on the team in scoring average at 74.61. She finished with one top-10 on the year and notched three rounds at par or better.
Kim, from Yakima, Wash., earned a 3.93 GPA in her first year, majoring in chemistry. She was also named to the Gonzaga President's List. Kim played in all six tournaments for the Zags on the year, placing in the top 30 three times with one top-10 finish. She tied for 10
th at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, helping GU to the team title.
