"Not our best finish today," GU Head Coach
Robert Gray said. "We were playing an okay round until finishing +9 on our final three holes. A lot of sloppy play going on right now in a number of areas. Fortunately we have a couple of weeks to clean things up before our final event of the fall. It was encouraging to see us improve on Par 5 scoring by 23 shots from our previous event."
Loyola Maryland won the team title at 18-under (834), led by Brandon Berry (-12, 201), Brett Inserra (-4, 209) and Michael Crowley (-1, 212). Navy's Nicholas Klock carded a tournament best nine-under (62) in the final round to edge Berry, finishing atop the individual leaderboard at 13-under (200).
Gonzaga will travel to Lahaina, Hawaii, for the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational at the Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course next. The tournament is a three-day event October 29-31. Live scoring will be available at GoZags.com.
