SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga men's soccer team had a tough battle against No. 2 Washington at Luger Field, but fell 3-0.
In the first half, the Huskies (12-0-0), who were No. 1 in the first edition of the NCAA RPI rankings this week, scored in the 44th minute with a goal from Kendall Burks and assisted by Dylan Teves.
Overall, the Zags (6-6-0, 1-1-0 West Coast Conference) took two shots in the first 45 minutes as UW took 12.
Going into the second half down 1-0, the Zags kept pressure on Washington, but Charlie Ostrem scored a second goal for UW in the 59th minute.
In the 77th minute, Chris Meyers scored the third goal for Washington, making it 3-0.
Redshirt sophomore Johan Garibay recorded eight saves on the day.
