Tucson, Arizona/Tulsa, Oklahoma – The Zags wrapped up play in Arizona today while Sasha Trkulja continued play in the ITA All American Championships.
Trkulja took on Julian Steinhausen of SMU in the round of 64 and battled hard, but fell in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
In Arizona, the Bulldogs wrapped up play at the Arizona Invitational with two Zags competing for bracket wins.
Junior Leon Roider and Freshman Arthus De La Bassetiere both took home bracket championships. Roider won in a hard faught battle, 7-5, 7-5, over Hiroki Sakagawa of the University of Arizona to capture the Red Draw bracket win. Arthus De La Bassetiere also took his match in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, over Alex Maggs of New Mexico to capture the White Draw bracket win.
Junior Oliver Andersson capture a victory over Freddie Grant of Grand Canyon University, 6-3, 6-4, in the winner consolation game. Sophomore Pablo Gomez Galvan also took a consolation victory, 7-6, 6-3 over Joel Pierleoni of New Mexico. Senior Theo McDonald's opponent in his consolation match, Joachim Schaefer of Northern Arizona University, retired in their match with McDonald leading, 6-3, 3-0. Graduate Tom Hann fought hard, but fell to Alex Groves of Northern Arizona University, 6-1, 6-2.
In the double bracket, all three Zags teams played in consolation matches. Gomez Galvan and Andersson teamed up to take down New Mexico State, 6-4. Hann and Roider battled in their match but lost 4-6 to North Arizona University. Bassetiere and McDonald fought hard but fell to Northern Arizona University, 5-7.

The Zags have the ITA North Regionals Oct. 13-17 followed by the ITA Northwest Super Regionals Oct. 22-24. The Bulldogs will wrap up their season at home with the Gonzaga Invitational on Oct. 29-31.
