Zags Finish the Gonzaga Invitational with Three Bracket Wins

The tournament concludes the fall season for the team

SPOKANE, Wash. – The men's tennis team finished up day three of the Gonzaga Invitational with three of the matches consisting of all Bulldogs matchups and three of the four being tournament finals matchups.
 
In the doubles bracket, the team of juniors Oliver Andersson and Leon Roider took on the duo of freshman Arthus de la Bassetière and Portland's Julien Penzlin, with de la Bassetière and Penzlin coming out on top, 8-7(4). In the consolation rounds, graduate Tom Hann and sophomore Pablo Gomez Galvan fell to Idaho's Bruno Casino and Francisco Bascon, 8-4.
 
In the singles bracket, four Zags faced off in the blue and white bracket finals. In the white bracket finals, Leon Roider defeated Pablo Gomez Galvan, 6-2, 6-2. As for the blue bracket, Tom Hann was leading Oliver Andersson 4-3 when Andersson retired in the first set, giving Hann the bracket win.

As a team, that concludes the Zags fall schedule. Individually, junior Matthew Hollingworth and sophomore Sasha Trkulja will be traveling to San Diego for the ITA National Fall Championships, where they will compete in the double's competition.
