SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga Women's soccer team defeated Saint Mary's 1-0 at Luger Field Saturday.
The Zags' (6-2-0, 4-1-0 West Coast Conference) Sophia Braun capitalized on a penalty kick in the 61st for the game's lone goal.
Gonzaga outshot SMC 11-6, with a 5-4 edge in shots on goal. The Bulldogs also held a slight advantage in corner kicks, 4-3. GU had possession for 53 percent of the evenly played match,
Gonzaga goalkeeper Liza Bosselman had a total of four saves, while Saint Mary's (1-4-2, 1-3-1 WCC) goalkeeper Taylor Poland had three.
