SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga's
Alyssa Bienfang,
Ben Hogan and
Alex Walde all won their respective events at the Northwest Scoring Clash (WAR XIV) Saturday.
At Spokane Falls Community College, Bienfang crossed the line first with a time of 2:21.12 in the women's 800 meters. In the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, Walde's time of 9:40.28 was first in the nine-runner field.
In the men's 5,000 meters, Hogan finished just ahead of teammate
Dominic Arce for the win. Hogan was first at 14:44.70 and Arce was second at 14:46.82.
Stefan Bradley was sixth with a time of 15:38.89.
Evan Bates placed second in the men's 1,500 meters at 3:59.24.
Megan Hill was third in the women's 1,500 meters at 5:00.54.
Mary Cate Babcock (5:12.46) and
Karina Smith (5:19.29) were eighth and ninth.
Ava Prunier-Herman ran the fifth-fastest 200-meter time in women's program history at 27.08. She placed 10
th Saturday, followed by
Grace Dalton's 14
th-place finish at 27.44, which was the eighth-best time ever at GU.
Erin Ripple and
Taylor Biondi were sixth and seventh in the women's 400 meters at 1:03.59 and 1:04.08.
Emilee Groth (1:06.08) was sixth in the women's 400-meter hurdles.
Gonzaga remains in Spokane and runs at the Sam Adams Classic next Saturday. The annual meet at Whitworth will have live results on GoZags.com.
