Volleyball Signs Graduate Transfer Brynn Chandler

Chandler arrives after four years at Georgia

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga volleyball bolstered its 2021 roster with the addition of standout transfer Brynn Chandler, head coach Diane Nelson announced Thursday afternoon. Chandler has spent four seasons at Georgia, but due to an extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she has a year of eligibility remaining at Gonzaga.

Chandler, a 5-foot-11 setter, will join Gonzaga as a fifth-year graduate transfer in the fall of 2021 following four seasons with the Georgia Bulldogs. In her four seasons at Georgia, Chandler finished with 400 career assists in 65 matches played, with 357 of those assists coming during her final season in Athens. She added 380 career digs and 24 kills, all of which came during the 2020-21 season. Chandler delivered a career-high 28 digs in a five-set victory against Ole Miss on March 25, 2021, and she reached double-figure assists in all but two matches on the season. She added double-figure digs on eight different occasions, finishing the season with seven double-doubles (assists, digs).
 
During the 2019 season, Chandler served up seven aces against Ole Miss, the most by and SEC player on the season and the second-most by a Bulldog in a four-set match in program history. She's also a four-time SEC Honor Roll member, earning SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll distinction in 2017-18 with SEC Academic Honor Roll honors her final three seasons.
 
Prior to her collegiate career, Chandler guided her high school team to the national rankings in addition to a third-place finish at the state tournament and a three-peat as league champions. The San Diego, Calif., native was named a Third Team All-American and All-CIF San Diego Section honoree. As part of the Coast Volleyball Club, led the program to is seventh appearance at the USA Junior Nationals.
