MORAGA, Calif. – The Gonzaga men's soccer team went on the road to take on Saint Mary's and came out with a 0-0 tie. This marks the Zags' second tie on the year as they move to 0-3-2 in the conference and 4-10-2 overall.
In the first half, the Zags took six shots, compared to Saint Mary's 12.
Frankie Ljucovic recorded two shots with one of those on goal.
Johan Garibay made four saves in the opening 45 minutes and the Bulldogs had six corner kicks, while the Gaels had four.
The Bulldogs took five more shots in the second half as Saint Mary's added 12 more shots to outshoot the Zags 24-11 overall. Ljucovic led the team with four shots and two of those on goal. Logan Dorsey and
Demitrius Kigeya both took two shots as Devin Slingsby, RJ Stretch and Diego Domenech each took one.
Garibay matched his season-high with six saves on the day as he didn't allow a single goal in 90 minutes of action. This is his third shutout of the year with also shutting out Incarnate Word and UC San Diego earlier this season.
Records: Gonzaga moves to 4-10-2 overall and 0-3-2 in the West Coast Conference. The Gaels are now 6-6-4 and 1-1-3 in the WCC.
