SAN MATEO, Calif. – Gonzaga women's soccer student-athletes
Lyza Bosselmann and
Sophia Braun were named to the 2022 West Coast Conference All-Academic Team Tuesday.
Bosselmann and Braun were recently named All-West Region and Academic All-District. The duo were tabbed Academic All-WCC Honorable Mention the past two seasons.
Bosselmann was named the West Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Year. She tops the program's Top-10 in fewest goals allowed in season (13 in 2022) and in a career (47 since 2019). She is also first all-time at GU in career goals against average (0.86) and in a season (0.72). Bosselmann is second all-time at GU in career shutouts with 20 and eighth with 182 career saves.
Braun joined Bosselmann on the WCC First Team. Braun started 64 of her 82 Gonzaga career appearances. A key piece to the Bulldog midfield over the past four seasons, she scored eight goals and record four assists during her career. She was named All-WCC multiple times in her career and Scholar All-Region in 2021. Braun also represented GU on an international level with the Argentinian national team.

Kelsey Oyler were all selected honorable mention All-Academic by the conference. Elwer and Healy were named honorable mention for the third straight season, while Doyle and Kemp were honored for the second straight season.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
