SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The Zags lost for the first time this season on Saturday, falling 4-1 to Utah in Salt Lake City.
Utah swept the doubles competition as the duo of Francisco Bastias and Bruno Caula took down Oliver Andersson and Leon Roider, 6-3.
That was followed with the team of Franco Capalbo and Geronimo Espin defeating Sasha Trkulja and Matthew Hollingworth, 6-2.
The match between Jayson Blando and Mathias Gavelin of Utah and Tom Hann and Arthus Bassetiere went unfinished, with the score 5-4 Utah.Â
In the singles competition, the Zags only had one player claim a victory, as Utah won the last two matches to win the game.
After Franco Capalbo took down Sasha Trkulja, 6-1, 6-2, Leon Roider won the second singles match of the day, 6-1, 6-3, to pull Gonzaga within 1.
But Geronimo Espin defeated Matthew Hollingworth, 0-6, 6-1, 6-1, and Mathias Gavelin defeated Tom Hann, 6-4, 6-2 to claim the match. Oliver Andersson and Arthus Bassetiere's matches went unfinished, with both players down a set.
