MTEN: Bulldogs Dominate Idaho, 6-1

Zags are on the road until March 18

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Zags dominated their match today against Idaho, in a 6-1 victory to move to 6-1 on the season. In addition, the Zags only dropped three sets on the day, going 11-3 overall in singles and 2-0 in doubles. 

In doubles, Oliver Andersson and Leon Roider took down Matteo Masala and Alex Asenov, 6-4, to open up the scoring. That was almost immediately followed by Sasha Trkulja and Matthew Hollingworth defeating Bruno Casino and Mario Duron Garza, 6-4 to wrap up the doubles with Gonzaga winning 1-0. Arthus Bassetiere and Theo McDonald also competed but did not finish as the match was won, but they led 5-4 at the time. 

In the singles matches, the Zags wrapped up the match early on but the matches played out in full leading to the 6-1 win.

Pablo Gomez Galvan was the first to finish the match, taking down Vivek Ramesh, 6-2, 6-0. Minutes after that, Leon Roider defeated Alejandro S. Civera one court over, 6-1, 6-4.

Finally, Matthew Hollingworth defeated Bruno Casino, 6-2, 6-3 to win the match, 4-0. Arthus Bassetiere dramatically defeated Mario Duron Garza, 6-4, 7-5 and Sasha Trkulja beat Francisco Gay 7-6 (7), 3-6, 1-0(3).

Oliver Andersson fell to Matteo Masala, 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (6). 

The Zags hit the road next, heading to San Diego State on February 26th. The Zags don't return back to the Stevens Center until March 18th when they take on Montana.
