PROVO, Utah – The Gonzaga's men's tennis team defeated BYU in their away match earlier today. This win extends the men's winning streak to five, which ties the longest winning streak of the season. 

Today's matchup started with a close doubles competition. In spot No.1, BYU's Mattheus Leite and Mateo Vereau earned a 7-5 victory over Gonzaga's Sasha Trkulja and Matthew Hollingworth.

Gonzaga's Leon Roider and Tom Hann tied the doubles competition, as they defeated BYU's Otto Schreiner and Alex Lin 7-5 on court two.

To clinch the doubles point, Gonzaga's Oliver Andersson and Theo McDonald earned a competitive 7-6 court three victory over Dominik Jakovljevic and Tennyson Whiting.

Moving to the singles competition, BYU tied the match as Vereau earned a 6-2, 6-2 court two victory against Hollingworth.

Gonzaga reclaimed the lead, as Bassetiere secured a 6-1, 6-3 win over Schreiner in the No.4 spot. On court three, Andersson helped give the Zags a 3-1 lwith a 6-4, 6-3 win over Jakovljevic. 

Hann then clinched the match for Gonzaga with a cvictory over Lin 7-5, 6-3 on court five.

All other matches went unfinished, as Gonzaga had already clinched the 4-1 win. 

Up next: The Zags get a week off following today's matchup against BYU, as they face San Francisco on Friday, April 1st at 2 pm. Gonzaga is 2-2 in their last four matches against San Francisco.
