The Zags will stay in Chula Vista to train as a team
CHULA VISTA, Calif. -- In a rare meeting between the two teams, Gonzaga and the University of Minnesota raced against each other on Wednesday morning at the Chula Vista training center in California.
"It was a great morning for racing," head coach Andrew Derrick said. "Our team raced hard with varying levels of success and execution. Some boats are happy with how they performed and some not as much, but it's early March and we will keep working on being better on race day. Minnesota is a well coached and very good team that's only going to get better as the Spring unfolds just as we hope to do. It was great early season experience that I hope makes both programs better as we prepare to race within our respective conferences."
