2019 WCC NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR

 

2021-2022 (Fall): Raced in Varsity 8 that finished 4th of 10 in Collegiate 8+ at the Head of the Oklahoma ... Took 10th of 22 in Collegiate 4+ at the Head of the Oklahoma ... In 2v8 that defeated Oregon State 2v8 and LMU V8 at the Head of the Spokane and lost to WSU 2v8 by just 1 second ... Rowed in the 4+s flight at the Head of the Spokane, defeating crews from OSU and WSU ... Rowed in GU’s 1v in Championship 8+ at the Head of the Lake, taking 3rd overall, losing only to the University of Washington ... (Spring): Shifted to the Second Varsity 8 team at the PLU Invitational, where she helped earn back-to-back first-place finishes with time of 7:01.1 and 7:14.1… Also aided the Second Varsity team in their event against Minnesota, finishing with a time of 7:10.71 and in fourth place… At the San Diego Classic, Cahalane assisted in the Second Varsity 8 team’s fourth-place finish on Day One ... Was part of the crew that swept the WCC Championships


2020-2021: In V8 that defeated WCC rival LMU in first spring competition ... Part of V8 boat that swept all 3 races at GU Invitational against U. Portland, Seattle U and Pacific Lutheran ... Part of Conference Squad that won the program’s 19th WCC Championship ... In V8 that won the 2021 WCC Championships ... Finished top 20 at the 2021 NCAA National Championships ... In V8 that placed 19th at the 2021 NCAA Championships

2019-20: Rowed with the second varsity eight in the final time trial of the season against Washington State and Oregon State…helped the Zags to a 15:30.2 4,000-meter finish…spring season shortened due to COVID-19.

2018-19: Placed third in the 2nd varsity eight boat against Oregon State and Washington State...finished fourth at the San Diego Classic in the 2nd novice eight boat...notched a third place finish in the varsity four boat at the Lake Natoma Invitational...at the Fawley cup, in the 2nd varisty eight race, placed second...finished first at the WCC Championships in 2nd varsity eight boat...in the NCAA D Finals, placed third in the 2nd varsity eight boat...named WCC Newcomer of the Year.

High School: Graduated in 2018 from Sacred Heart Preparatory in San Francisco…rowed three years in the starboard position for Pacific Rowing Club…raced in the third set of the varsity eight at the 2016 Head of the Charles…raced second seat for the varsity eight at the same race in 2017…held the bow seat of the varsity eight boat her senior year…named Most Inspirational all three seasons…accepted into the Sacred Heart Cathedral with academic honors...

Personal: Daughter of Clodagh and John…has one sister, Molly, and one brother, Barry…majoring in psychology…plans to become either a criminal or sports psychologist…an interesting fact is that she is the daughter of Irish immigrants and grew up in the San Francisco Irish community…spent most of her life playing and competing in Gaelic football and hurling.
