SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga men's rowing team travels to the Western Sprints regatta this Saturday, May 14.

The Varsity 8 boat will compete at 9:50 a.m. with the JV8 boat starting at 10 a.m. The JV8 boat is currently No. 25 in the IRA Coaches Poll and the Varsity boat is receiving votes in the poll as well.

"We have had a good week of training after exams," head coach Dan Gehn said. "I felt like we picked up some speed in both boats. Now we just have to perform on race day."

In last year's competition at Western Sprints, the Varsity 8 boat finished third with a time of 6:00.36. The JV8 boat finished second, crossing the finish line in 6:09.79.
