SARASOTA, Fla. – After the third day of competition, the Gonzaga women's rowing team finished 18th overall and recorded 28 team points at the NCAA Championships to finish out the 2022 season. The finish marks one of the best performances in program history as the Zags finished 18th in 2018 along with 16th in 2016 and 17th in 2015.
"I am so proud of these young women, our staff, and this program!" head coach
Andrew Derrick said. "We had some real challenges through the week that included COVID line-up changes, a couple disappointing rows, and some great competition. But when the dust settled, I think we did absolutely all we could do this weekend. Each boat had some great highlights to their weekend and moved our program in the right direction. We will truly miss all the seniors, they are phenomenal. They set a great standard and left a legacy and culture of pushing the bar higher and higher and I believe the team will be even better next year!"
