ANN ARBOR, Mich. – In the first game against the University of Michigan in program history, the Gonzaga men's soccer team fell to the Wolverines, 1-0.
The game was held scoreless until the 82nd minute when Christian Pulselli scored for Michigan with the assist coming from Jason Bucknor.
Gonzaga's
Logan Dorsey took two shots on the day, with one of those being on goal.
Demitrius Kigeya also took two shots for the Bulldogs while
Johnny Hansen and
Jake Goehring both recorded one.
Dorsey's shot on target came in the second minute, which was followed by a corner kick for the Zags. Kigeya also had back-to-back shots in the 22nd minute, with the first one being blocked and the second one going just wide left of the net.
Goehring also took a shot in the 85th minute, with it also going above the goal. Hansen's shot came in the closing minute of the contest with his attempt going just above the net.
Overall, the Zags took six shots and goalkeeper
Johan Garibay had one save. Michigan took 14 shots with two of those being on goal. The Bulldogs held possession for 43 percent of the contest and took one corner kick.
Records: The Zags move to 0-2-0 on the year and UM is now 1-1-0.
