Former GU Men's Tennis Player Named to U.S. Men's National Field Hockey Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Following the opportunity for evaluation at the two Open Trial Weekends, U.S. Men's National Team Head Coach Harry Singh and his staff have named the 2022-23 Senior and Development U.S. Men's National Team rosters and Gonzaga's own former men's tennis player, Simon Homedes Dualde, made the team.

More than 44 athletes attended either the first Open Trial weekend held in Spring City, Pa. On Aug. 13 or the second Open Trial weekend held in Moorpark, Calif. on Sept. 2 and 5.
 
This will be Homedes Dualde's debut on the U.S. National Team as the team aims to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
 
Homedes Dualde competed at Gonzaga from 2016-2020. Originally from Barcelona, Spain, but now lives in Portland, Ore., Homedes Dualde graduated with a degree in accounting and was a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and a two-time WCC All-Academic Team honoree. He also earned honorable mention accolades in 2018. During his senior year, he was named the Male Scholar Athlete at GU and given the athletic department's Leadership Award at the Evening of Excellence.
