No. 20/20 WBB Set to Play Arizona in Jerry Colangelo Hall of Fame Series

THE TIPOFF
- The No. 20 Gonzaga women's basketball team hits the road to take on Arizona in Phoenix at the Jerry Colangelo Classic HOF Series. The game will take place at the Footprint Center and is part of the HOF Series.
- GU is coming off an 83-58 win over South Dakota State on Sunday, Dec. 17. Eliza Hollingsworth had 17 points and 12 rebounds, Yvonne Ejim scored 16 points and Brynna Maxwell added 15 for the Zags. Kayleigh Truong rounded out the double figure scoring efforts for GU with 11 points and six assists.
- Five Zags are averaging double digits in scoring including Yvonne Ejim (19.6), Brynna Maxwell (13.5), Kayleigh Truong (13.2), Kaylynne Truong (11.5) and Eliza Hollingsworth (11.2).
- The Zags are 13th in the country in three-point percentage at 38.9 percent. GU's 47.9 field goal percentage also ranks 21st. From the free throw line, GU is 10th with 80.3 percent.
- Kaylynne Truong is sixth in the nation in assists with 81 so far this year along with 19th in the country in assists per game with 6.2. Yvonne Ejim is second in the country in field goals with 111 scored this season and is also fifth in the nation in points scored this year with 255. Brynna Maxwell is 14th in the country in three-pointers made with 32 so far.
- Yvonne Ejim has been named the WCC Player of the Week three times this season. She was also ESPN's Player of the Week and the Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week (12/4). 
- Gonzaga is currently on a 25 home game winning streak, which ranks third in the country only behind UNLV (27) and South Carolina (46).
- Kaylynne Truong was one of 20 point guards in the country named to the Nancy Lieberman Award watch list. Brynna Maxwell was also one of 20 shooting guards in the country named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award watch list.
- Yvonne Ejim, Brynna Maxwell and Kaylynne Truong were named to the preseason watch list for the 2024 Becky Hammon Player of the Year Award. Gonzaga is the only team with multiple players on the watch list and becomes the first team to ever place three players on a single list.
- Lisa Fortier was recently named to the 2024 Kathy Delaney-Smith Coach of the Year Award preseason watch list. This year's watch list includes coaches from 16 conferences.
- The Bulldogs were picked to win the West Coast Conference. The Zags received eight first-place votes that and totaled 64 points in the poll. The poll is voted on by the league's nine head coaches, and coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team. Portland received one first-place vote and was selected to finish second with 50 points, while Pacific and Santa Clara were both voted to finish third with 41 points.
- Gonzaga has amassed a conference record of 274-34 (.889) during the last 18 seasons, which includes 17 West Coast Conference regular-season titles and nine WCC Tournament championships.
- Graduate students Brynna Maxwell, Kayleigh Truong, Kaylynne Truong and senior Yvonne Ejim were named to the Preseason All-WCC Team. 
- Last season, the Zags advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth-straight year under Lisa Fortier.

SERIES INFO: This will be the first time in women's basketball program history that Gonzaga and Arizona have played.    

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
- Arizona is coming off a 91-52 win over Arizona State. They currently sit at 8-3 overall and 1-0 in the Pac-12 conference. 
- Against ASU, the Wildcats ended the night with 13 made three-pointers to tie the second-most in a single game in program history. Five Wildcats scored in double digits for the third time this season. Arizona's 65 percent from three-point range was its sixth-best single-game three-point percentage in program history.
- Sophomore guard Kaiyln Gilbert was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week after being the leading scorer for Arizona against both No. 5 Texas and Arizona State, averaging 22.5 points across the two games. The sophomore shot 83.3 percent from behind the arc between the two matchups, draining a pair of threes against Arizona State and making all three three-pointers she took against Texas. 
- Gilbert is the team's leading scorer, averaging 14.7 points per game, and is third on the squad in rebounding with 5.0. She has scored 20 or more points in three games this season.
