LAKEWOOD, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's rowing team opened their spring season with a solid showing at the PLU Invitational at American Lake on Saturday.
The Zags 4V boat finished first in the opening Varsity 8+ race with a time of 7:13.04 followed by Seattle University at 7:13.60. In the second 4V8 flight, the Zags boat finished second with a time of 7:21.80 behind Western Washington University at 7:11.17. The Zags had the same line up for both 4V8 flights.
In the first 5V8 race, the Bulldogs finished second with a time of 7:35.16 behind Seattle U at 7:22.90. In the second 5V8 race, the Zags finished second at 7:42.71, again behind Seattle U at 7:34.68.
Others team competing included Seattle Pacific, Pacific Lutheran University, and the University of Puget Sound.
This regatta kicks off the spring season for the Zags. Their next race will be in Chula Vista, CA on March 10th against Minnesota.
