THATS A LOT OF GOALS:
- Gonzaga women's soccer completed the Outrigger Soccer Kickoff with a 7-5 victory over host Hawaii.
- The seven goals match the third-most all-time at GU, and the most since a 7-0 win at Portland State in 2021.
- Giana Riley had two goals and an assist for the Zags, Kate Doyle scored twice, and Kelsey Oyler was credited with two assists.
- Doyle opened the scoring for the season in the Bulldogs' 3-0 season-opening win over Houston Christian.
 
OUT OF THE GATES:
- Gonzaga has won 16 of its 33 all-time season-opening matches, including its last three of its last four.
- The Zags are unbeaten in eight of their last 10 season-openers, with losses at No. 19 Texas in 2019, 4-3, and versus Pittsburgh last season in Missoula, 1-0.
- The Bulldogs have also won 11 of its last 15 season-opening contests, with the other loss coming in 2011 at Illinois. Gonzaga tied at Nevada in 2015, 1-1.
 
DUO NAMED PRESEASON ALL-WCC:
- The preseason team was selected solely by a vote of the conference's nine head coaches.
- Willow Collins and Kelsey Oyler were named Preseason All-West Coast Conference.
- Collins was named to the league's All-Freshman in 2021 and has started all 38 games in her collegiate career. A key piece to the GU defense, Collins scored twice last season and had three assists.
- A defensive teammate, Oyler was tabbed honorable mention All-Conference last season with a goal and three assists. She also has started in 38 of her 38 collegiate appearances.
 
ZAGS TABBED FOURTH IN WCC POLL:
- The Bulldogs were selected fourth in the conference's preseason poll as voted by the league's head coaches.
- It's the fourth straight season Gonzaga was fourth in the preseason poll. It matches the best ranking for GU in the WCC preseason poll since 2006, when the Bulldogs were tabbed third, which was the highest position in the poll in program history.
- Last season, Gonzaga was fourth in the preseason poll, before placing third.
 
 A RECORD-BREAKING SEASON:
- Last season, the Zags matched their best WCC finish in program history and reached 10 wins in season for the 10th time. It's the fifth time in the last six seasons GU has won 10 matches in a season, with the exception being the shortened season in the spring of 2021.
- It was the best conference finish by winning percentage in program history.
- The Bulldogs' 0.72 goals against average was the lowest in program history. GU's 10 shutouts were the third-most in program history.
- Gonzaga had a nine-game unbeaten streak, the longest in program history.
- Twelve Zags have scored a goal last season, with nine having multiple goals. Ten GU players had an assist.
