SPOKANE, Wash. – San Diego won its 20
th straight West Coast Conference match with a 3-0 road victory over Gonzaga volleyball Thursday in the Martin Centre, 25-13, 25-14, 25-10.
THE ACTION
First set – San Diego 25-13
- A kill by Zoe Thiros put the Zags ahead early 3-2.
- The Toreros (6-6, 2-0 West Coast Conference) followed with a 7-1 run to grab the momentum.
- Gonzaga closed the gap to 10-7 after a kill from Autumn Larson and a USD attack error.
- San Diego used a 12-3 run to pull away and win the set 25-13.
- Nia Damuni finished the set with eight assists for the Bulldogs, while Thiros had four kills.
Second set – San Diego 25-14
- Another Thiros kill evened the score at three to start the set.
- USD would again separate early with a 7-0 run to take a 10-3 lead.
- A kill by the Zags' Jody Smith made the score 15-9 in favor of USD.
- Gonzaga's Fallon Thompson had two aces in the second set.
Third set – San Diego 25-10
- After USD jumped out to a 4-0 lead, GU closed the gap to 4-2 following a Thiros kill and a Torero error.
- Kills by Haylee Stoner and Juliette Russell gave the Bulldogs back-to-back point with USD ahead 8-4.
- With the Toreros leading 18-6, Gonzaga reeled off three straight points with a pair of Maggie Rickert kills.
- Alisa Kim led the Zags with five digs in the third set.
Thiros led Gonzaga (3-11, 0-3 WCC) with 10 kills. Damuni had a team-high 20 assists. Kim finished with 11 digs, while Thiros, Damuni, and
Viktoriya Ivanova each added four digs.

Gonzaga remains at home and welcomes Loyola Marymount (8-4, 1-1) to the Martin Centre Saturday at 12 p.m.
