Gonzaga Radio Network and iHeartMedia announce broadcast partnership

96.1 FM and 590 AM becomes the official Spokane flagship stations of Gonzaga men’s basketball

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga Athletics and LEARFIELD/Gonzaga Sports Properties announced that iHeartMedia will become the new radio home for the Gonzaga Bulldog men's and women's basketball teams.

The partnership will bring fans across greater Spokane live game day broadcasts for Zag men's basketball and women's basketball, as well as coaches' shows.

iHeartMedia is the leading media outlet in the Spokane market with multiple platforms, including its broadcast stations; live events; data; and its digital businesses and platforms, including mobile, social and its own iHeartRadio, iHeartMedia's free all-in-one digital music, podcasting and live streaming radio service – with three billion app downloads and more than 160 million registered users.

iHeartMedia's KQNT-AM 590 will become the flagship station, for men's basketball programming simulcast on KFOO-FM 96.1. GU women's basketball will be available on KZFS-FM 101.5.

LEARFIELD's Gonzaga Sports Properties, which manages the Gonzaga Radio Network and Gonzaga Athletics' multimedia rights, negotiated the partnership.

"The move of our network's flagship radio station to 590 KQNT is a huge win for our fans in Spokane," said Chris Standiford Gonzaga's Director of Athletics. "The powerful signals of 590 KNQT and 96.1 for men's basketball and Hooptown 101.5 for women's basketball will give Gonzaga fans a crystal clear broadcast of all the Zag coverage."

The Gonzaga Radio Network broadcasts men's basketball and women's basketball game days, as well as coaches' shows. Zag fans can also stream through iHeart's live streaming service. Additionally, broadcasts are available on SiriusXM satellite radio and streamed live worldwide on The Varsity Network app.

Tom Hudson, entering his 23rd year as the 'The Voice of the Bulldogs', will continue his play-by-play role on game days, alongside analyst Adam Morrison. Steve Myklebust returns as the play-by-play voice for GU women's basketball. Gonzaga men's basketball tips off with Numerica Kraziness in the Kennel Saturday at 3 p.m. Women's basketball's annual Numerica Fan Fest is at 3 p.m. Oct. 12.
