Men’s Golf Welcomes WSU Transfer Daniel Kim

Upcoming junior has two years of eligibility remaining

SPOKANE, Wash. – Daniel Kim, a transfer from Washington State, signed a financial aid agreement to attend Gonzaga University and will join the men's golf team for the 2024-25 season.
 
"We're very excited to have Daniel join our program this fall," GU Head Coach Robert Gray said. "He brings a strong work ethic and desire to play at a high level. He's accomplished some great things in his career, and we know he's excited to contribute to our team.
 
"In addition to his game, Daniel's personality will fit in nicely with our other team members, where team chemistry and unity is a very important part of our program."
 
Kim, a native of Mukilteo, Wash., is has two years of eligibility remaining. He placed ninth at the 2022 Husky Individual Invitational in his collegiate debut as a freshman.
 
As an amateur, Kim was a two-time U.S. Open Sectional Qualifier. He was the 2023 Snohomish County Amateur Champion and tied for 10th at the 2023 Washington State Amateur. In 2024, he tied for 14th at the Royal Oaks Invitational, and tied for 20th at the Oregon Open.
 
Prior to Washington State, Kim won the 2018 Washington 4-A State Championship while at Kamiak High School and was named the 2018 Washington Junior Golf Association Player of the Year. He was selected to the 2019 Junior Americas Cup team, posting four top-five finishes at American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) tournaments. He ranked as high as No. 37 in the United States for junior golfers. Kim was a PNGA stroke-play medalist. He won seven Washington Junior Golf Association tournaments in his prep career. He won the 2020 WJGA District 1 Championship by carding 145 (+1).
