LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The Gonzaga men's soccer team opened up West Coast Conference play at LMU on Saturday night and dropped the game, 1-0.
Both teams were held scoreless in the first half as LMU (4-3-2) outshout GU (6-3-2) by a slim 6-4 margin. Goalkeeper
Chema Preciado recorded four saves in the opening half as the Lions made three saves.
LMU's Alejandro Fuentesal-Atalaya scored the winning goal in the 47th minute with the assist coming from Steven Anderson to give LMU the 1-0 lead. The Lions held on to the lead the rest of the game as three Zags had three shots on goal to try and find the equalizer.Â
Overall, the Zags had six shots with
Drew Pedersen leading the way with two and one of those on goal. LMU recorded 13 shots and Preciado made seven saves total.
