SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga men's track head coach
Pat Tyson has announced the schedule for the 2025 men's outdoor season. The Bulldogs' outdoor slate will open at Whitworth's Boppell Track for the Buc Scoring Invite on March 21.
On Apr. 4, GU will return to Whitworth for their annual Peace Meet. Those two meets will be the first of four for the men during the 2025 outdoor season on Whitworth's campus.
Gonzaga's first road meet will be the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., on Apr. 4-5. The Zags will race late into the night hoping to earn some qualifying 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter times on Cobb Track. Back-to-back local meets are next for Gonzaga; first the Jeff Rahn Classic on Apr. 11 and then the Whitworth Twilight Meet on Apr. 17.
GU will enter an important road stretch as the next two meets will be crucial in putting down qualifying times for the NCAA West Prelims. First up is Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif., on Apr. 16-18. Then, the GU men will return to Palo Alto on Apr. 25 for the Payton Jordan Invitational.
In their final weekend of the season, the Zag men will make a trip to the state of Oregon on May 9-10, where they will first race at the historic Hayward Field for the Oregon Twilight meet in Eugene. The next day, they will head to Corvallis for the Oregon State Last Chance Meet in their final races of the regular season.
The NCAA West Preliminary Rounds will take place in College Station, Texas on May 28-31. Gonzaga will hope to repeat history from the 2024 season, sending runners from both teams to the NCAA Championships in Eugene. The final rounds of the 2025 postseason will return to Hayward Field June 11-14.
