Gonzaga trailed 2-0 before scoring three straight for the victory

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's soccer rallied from a two-goal deficit to pick up a 3-2 win over Seattle University at Luger Field on Saturday. On a chilly and wet night, the Bulldogs rose to third in the league standings with the victory.

On Senior Night for eight Zags (6-8-2, 4-2-2 West Coast Conference), it was SU that struck first. Eight minutes later, Penner curled in a shot to the far post for her 10th goal of the year.

Just before halftime, Samantha Snorsky fired a shot into the net for her first goal of the season, with Lauren Chin credited with the assist. SU (7-2-6, 3-2-2 WCC) finished the first half outshooting Gonzaga 10-6.

The Bulldogs then outshot Seattle 9-4 in the second half and did not allow a shot on goal in the final 45 minutes. In the 68th minute, Amelia Severn scored her sixth goal of the season on an assist from Annie Boyden. Katelyn Rigg's sixth goal of the year capped off the rally in the 84th minute, with Snorsky earning the assist on the game-winner.

The Redhawks held 54 percent of the possession, but GU finished with a 15-14 edge in total shots. The Zags had a 9-3 advantage in shots on goal and forced Kassidy Kirgan into six saves in the Seattle net. Michaela McCollum recorded one save for Gonzaga.
