SPOKANE, Wash- Head Coach Jake Stewart announced the signing of Audrey Orme to Zag Running on Wednesday, adding another standout high school performer to the GU roster.
Audrey Orme
Boise, Idaho. | Boise High School
The top ranked high school runner in the state of Idaho, Orme joins the Zags after wrapping up a record breaking career at Boise High School. Orme set a new school record for Boise High School in October when she took second place at the Nike Portland XC meet with a time of 17:08. Given the success of fellow Boise HS alum Rosina Machu at Gonzaga, Orme's success in her high school career is a sign of great things to come in the upcoming season. Orme ran a time of 4:51.6 in the 1600 meters in the 2024 season, putting her third on the all time list at Boise. She followed that up with a 10:49.6 time in the 3200 meters in the same State Championship meet, putting her sixth in school history.
Coach Stewart is excited for Orme to continue her career as a Zag and to keep pushing to break records, stating that Orme "comes to Gonzaga from a program we have a lot of trust in and know well at Boise High School. Coming from that program we are really confident in Audrey's ability to work and her understanding of racing. These qualities are what really excite us most about her. She's coming off of her best high school season to date, building momentum heading into her post-season, and showing herself as one of the best cross country athletes in the Northwest. We have no doubt that her momentum will continue on the track this spring."
