SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Gonzaga women's soccer's
Samantha Snorsky was named the 2025 West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year the announced Wednesday.
Amelia Severn earned All-WCC First Team honors, while Snorsky and
Katelyn Rigg were selected to the second team.
Makayla Werner was tabbed honorable mention. Snorsky was also named to the league's All-Freshman Team.
Snorsky became the first Zag to ever be named the conference's Freshman of the Year. She was second in the league in assists with nine, and second in WCC play with six. The Kenmore, Wash., native now ranks second in program history for most assists in a single season.
Severn was honorable mention and All-Freshman last season. She finished third in the WCC in goals (10) and points (25). The Shoreline, Wash., native, was second in conference play in goals (8) and points (20). She finished the season fifth in program history for most goals and points in a season.
Rigg finished fifth in the WCC eight goals and 51 shots, and sixth with 19 points. Her three game-winning goals ranked third.
Werner started in all 19 matches for the Bulldogs this season. The junior was a key piece of the GU defense that posted four shutouts and was fifth allowing 27 goals in 2025.
Gonzaga placed fourth in the final West Coast Conference standings, winning three of its last four contests. The Zags were unbeaten in five of its last six. The Bulldogs won six conference matches for the third straight season, finishing 6-3-1 for the second consecutive year.
