SPOKANE, Wash. – In front of the first sellout crowd in Beasley Coliseum in 15 years, Gonzaga picked up a dominant 84-63 road win over Washington State Wednesday.
Nolan Hickman was one point off his career-high with 23 points, with four made three-pointers and five assists, to lead the Zags (21-7, 12-3 West Coast Conference) to their fifth straight win.
Graham Ike contributed his sixth double-double of the season with 17 points and 13 rebounds. The Colorado native made all seven of his shots from the free-throw line.
Michael Ajayi and Braden added 12 and 11 points off the bench.
After falling behind 8-2 to start the game, the Bulldogs led for 35 minutes in the contest. GU had a 50-28 advantage at halftime, and then had its largest lead, 59-34, five minutes into second half.
Gonzaga made 52 percent of its shots from the field, including 7-of-15 from three-point range. The Cougars (16-12, 6-9 WCC) were held to 41 percent from the field, and 9-for-25 from behind-the-arc. The Zags finished with a 35-28 edge on the boards, while outscoring WSU in the paint, 38-24.
LeJuan Watts led Washington State with 19 points and five assists. Isaiah Watts and Tomas Thrastarson both scored 12 points.
