Cal Poly Powers Past Men’s Tennis, 4-1

Zags (4-4) have a weekend off before hosting Montana
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Gonzaga men's tennis fell 4-1 to Cal Poly on Sunday at Ronca Tennis Center.
Tom Dunlop/Diego Herrera were dropped 6-2 in doubles, then Giovanni Branchetti/Jay Fairclough won decisively, 6-1. The doubles point came down to court 2, where Cal Poly defeated Kai-Luca Ampaw/Nicholas Reeves 6-2.
Moving to singles, Reeves and Dunlop were denied in two sets. Fairclough picked up a point for the Bulldogs with a commanding 6-1, 6-3 victory. However, the Mustangs clinched the overall match as Ampaw was outlasted 6-4, 6-3.
When the dual was decided, Branchetti was in the second frame after winning a first-set tiebreaker, while Oscar Rashed was trailing his match.
