NEW ORLEANS, La. – Grace Lee led Gonzaga women's golf with a seventh-place finish at the Tulane Classic.
Gonzaga tied for sixth as a team at the 54-hole, three day event held at English Turn Golf & Country Club. The Bulldogs were 62-over (926) in the tournament, with their 14-over (302) in Round 3 ranking fourth.
Lee finished tied for 7th place at seven-over (223). Her 37 overall pars were tied for second most on the weekend. The junior carded a 72 (E) in Round 3, with two birdies and 14 pars.
Darby Rickel had the Zags' next best 18-hole stretch with a two-over (74) in Round 1. Rickel was 19-over (235) for the event, finishing T-32nd along with
Carys Baek and
Esther Yoo. Baek was five-over (76) in Rounds 1 and 3, while Yoo was three-over (74) in the final round.
The Bulldogs had the third-lowest average on the course's Par 3 holes (3.17).
Cal Poly held off Tulane for the team title. The Mustangs were 27-over (891), while the Green Wave were 29-over (893). At 62-over (926), the Zags tied for 6th with UTEP, well ahead of the next finishers at 91-over (955). LSU's Josefin Widal and Tulane's Francesca Pompa took medalist honors at one-under (215).
