The Gonzaga men's rowing crew retains the Fawley Cup as the team beat Washington State on Friday evening.

Dan Gehn said. "JV also had a great race. Hats off to the N8 and 3V8. We were missing rowers in those boats due to injury but they battle hard. Overall, a great day for Zag Rowing!"Â

The Varsity 8 boat, which is ranked #23 in the country, had an impressive margin over WSU and won the race by finishing it in 5:53.4 compared to WSU's 6:09.7.

The Zags continued their success with the JV8 race as the Bulldogs finished in 6:08.3 and WSU placed behind them with 6:19.2.

The 3V8 boat had the closest race of the day as WSU won the race by a very slim .1 seconds. Gonzaga finished second in 6:23.2 and the Cougs finished in 6:23.1.

The Novice boat also had a competitive race with Washington State and finished second with a 6:36.2 performance. WSU finished first in 6:30.4.

Gonzaga hosts the OSU/UCSD Tri Dual next Saturday at Silver Lake. Races will all take place on Saturday, April 26.
