Women’s Soccer Adds New Mexico State Transfer Shila Rasoul

Canadian native will have two years of eligibility remaining

SPOKANE, Wash. – Shila Rasoul, a transfer from New Mexico State, signed a financial aid agreement to attend Gonzaga University and will join the women's soccer team for the 2025 season.
 
"Shila comes to us with great experience, a true love for the game, and a get-it-done mentality," GU Head Coach Katie Benz said. "Her energy is infectious, and we're thrilled to add her to our powerful attack."

Rasoul appeared in 39 games in her two seasons at New Mexico State, with 10 of her 11 career starts coming this past season. She helped guide the Aggies to 21 wins over her two seasons in Las Cruces, including an unbeaten league record in 2023. NMSU finished the last two seasons in the Conference USA semifinals.
 
Rasoul scored two goals in each of the past two seasons, while recording three assists in 2024. Twenty-two of her 49 career shots were on goal. After being a key reserve for New Mexico State in 2023, Rasoul was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team.
 
A three-time BCSPL (BC Soccer Premier League) top goal scorer, Rasoul started every match during her secondary school career. A multi-sport athlete at A.R. MacNeill, she was a two-time first team All-star in basketball, while also playing volleyball and running on the track team.
