BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Gonzaga University (3-3-1, 0-0-0) secured a 2-0 victory over CSU Bakersfield (0-7-1, 0-0-0) on Sunday, with the Bulldogs' goalkeeper recording five saves to ensure a clean sheet.

Chema Preciado's crucial save on a penalty kick in the 26th minute to keep the Roadrunners scoreless. The Bulldogs capitalized on their momentum when
Ian Silva found the back of the net in the 16th minute, giving them an early lead. Throughout the half, Gonzaga's aggressive play was evident with multiple shots on goal, while Preciado's goalkeeping kept CSU Bakersfield at bay, maintaining a 1-0 advantage at the break.
The second half began with the Roadrunners applying early pressure, but the Bulldogs' defense held firm, highlighted by a key save from Preciado in the 54th minute. Despite multiple corner opportunities for CSU Bakersfield, Gonzaga maintained composure, and in the closing moments of the match,
Robbie Mora capitalized on a chance to score in the 89th minute, sealing a 2-0 victory for Gonzaga. Gonzaga's ability to withstand defensive pressure and convert late opportunities was crucial in securing the win.
