Casey Collins Named Women’s Soccer Assistant Coach

Collins was on UNLV coaching staff in 2025

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's soccer head coach Katie Benz announced the addition of Casey Collins to the coaching staff as an assistant coach.

Collins comes to Spokane after serving as an assistant coach at UNLV during the 2025 season. He brings a wealth of experience as both a head coach and assistant at multiple collegiate levels, along with a proven track record of competitive success and player development.

"I am very excited to announce the addition of Casey to our staff," Benz said. "He brings experience from many different levels, works incredibly hard, and I'm confident he'll make us better as a program."

Prior to his time at UNLV, Collins spent four seasons as the head coach of the men's soccer program at Walla Walla Community College (2021–24), while also serving as an assistant coach with the women's program during the 2024 season. Under his leadership, the Warriors emerged as one of the top programs in NJCAA Division II, earning a No. 5 national ranking in 2024 and a No. 19 ranking in 2023. Collins was named Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) East Region Coach of the Year twice and guided the program to two NWAC Final Four appearances, including a trip to the 2022 NWAC Championship match.

During his tenure at Walla Walla, Collins coached the first All-American in school history, along with three All-West Region selections, 13 NWAC All-Stars, the 2023 East Region Player of the Year, and the 2024 NWAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year.

Before Walla Walla, Collins served as head coach of the men's soccer program at Schreiner University from 2018–20 at the NCAA Division III level. He also spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the men's and women's programs at the University of Houston–Victoria (2015–18). During that span, the UHV men posted a 36-13-4 record and captured the 2017 Red River Athletic Conference Championship, earning the program's first trip to the NAIA National Tournament. The UHV women compiled a 28-19-2 record and made their debut in the NAIA National Polls, reaching as high as No. 20.

Across his coaching career, Collins has helped develop All-Americans, conference Players of the Year, and numerous all-conference and all-region honorees, reflecting a consistent emphasis on individual growth within competitive team environments.

Collins began his coaching career as an assistant at Shoreline Community College (2012–15), contributing to two NWAC quarterfinal appearances, and later worked with goalkeepers at Bellevue College during the 2011–12 season.

A native of Seattle, Collins earned his bachelor's degree in urban planning from The Evergreen State College in 2011 and later completed his MBA in ethical leadership at Schreiner University in 2021. He also brings professional playing experience, having competed with the Kitsap Pumas, members of the 2011 PDL National Championship team, and spending five seasons playing and coaching in the PASL.

Collins holds a USSF National "C" License, United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma, and an Advanced National Goalkeeping License.

With Collins joining the staff, Gonzaga women's soccer continues to strengthen its commitment to developing high-level student-athletes while competing for success in the West Coast Conference and beyond.
