Lee Places Second at WCC Championships

Zag senior finishes one-under after carding a 69 in final round

FAIRFIELD, Calif. – Gonzaga women's golfer Grace Lee tied for second at the 2026 West Coast Conference Championships Monday. The annual 54-hole event was held at the Green Valley Country Club.

Lee finished at one-under (215) over the three days. The three-time All-WCC golfer was three-under (69) in Monday's final round. Her third round featured five birdies and 11 pars. The senior's 10 birdies were the third-most in the 40-golfer field, while her 3.97 (-1) average on the course's Par-4 holes ranked second. Lee was even-par (72) in Round 1 and two-over (74) in the second round.

Lee has been named First Team All-Conference in each of the past three seasons with three Top-5 finishes. She fifth last season at three-over (219), third in 2024 at three-over (219), and fifth in 2023 at one-over (217). Her 2026 finish was the best by a Zag since Cassie Kim was second in 2021.

Lee boasts a 72.13 scoring average in 2025-26 through 27 rounds, which is the lowest all-time in a season at GU. This was her third Top-10 finish this season, and second in the Top-5. The Bellevue, Wash., native's 73.12 career scoring average also ranks first in program history.

Mariko Yonemura placed 11th at six-over (222). The freshman had back-to-back rounds of 73 (+1) to open the tournament, before finishing four-over (76) on Day 3. Her 38 pars were the fourth-most in the field.

Brenna Preap and Esther Yoo placed 33rd and 34th. Preap was 18-over (234), while Yoo was 19-over (235). Yoo may have had the highlight of the event making a hole in one on the 135-yard Par-3 17th Hole. Taylor Mularski finished 36th at 22-over (238).

Pepperdine's Eunseo Choi earned medalist honors at nine-under (207). She led the Waves to their fourth team title in the last five years. Pepperdine was one-over (865) as a team, while last year's champion Oregon State was second at 15-over (879). The Beavers' Raya Nakao, last season's WCC Championship medalist, also tied for second individually at one-under (215).

During the 2025-26 season, GU won the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational team title in September and placed second the Red Rocks Invitational in March. Lee took medalist honors at Red Rocks and the Kalispel Invitational.

Gonzaga set a new program record in 2025-26 with a 293.17 team season scoring average. The Zags' 280 team total in the second round of the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational on Sept. 29, ranks third as the lowest round in program history, while the 281 total in the final round of the Red Rocks Invitational is fourth.

The Bulldogs' 856 (291-280-285) total at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational broke the GU record for the lowest 54-hole team record. The 861 (289-291-281) team total at Red Rocks Invitational ranks fourth in program history.
