FAYETTEVILLE, ARK.-
Rosina Machu broke her own program record with a tremendous performance on Saturday at the NCAA West Regionals, punching her ticket to the finals of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:38.43.
Machu, the program record holder in the 5,000 meters,and the 10,000 meters, will be running in both events in the NCAA Outdoor Track Finals in Eugene, Oregon after finishing in the top 10 in the West in both events in the span of just 48 hours. Machu finished 10th overall in today's 5k, running at the front of an incredibly fast field that saw two athletes break the previous facility record.
Logan Hofstee ran a solid race as well, finishing 19th overall after running a 15:58.64 time in the 5,000 meters.
Rosina Machu is slated to compete in the finals of the 10,000 meters in Eugene at 7:55 pm on June 11th. Machu will also compete in the 5,000 meters after today's record breaking run, with the final for the event set for 6:55 pm on June 13th. Both events are set to be broadcast live on ESPN2.
