Bulldogs win third straight while celebrating Senior Day

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's soccer cruised to a 4-0 win over Montana at Luger Field Sunday. Prior to the game, the Bulldogs honored six student-athletes on Senior Day.

The Zags (5-4-1) earned their third straight victory in the final non-conference home match of the season. GU has outscored its opponents 9-1 over the last three games.

Gonzaga controlled the tempo Sunday, outshooting the Griz (2-6-0), 28-7, while having an 11-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Zags' 14 corner kicks were the most by the program since they had 18 at Cal State Bakersfield in 2021.

Senior Abbie Sicilia scored her second career goal to open the scoring in the 16th minute. She drove in a loose ball in the box off a corner kick by Amelia Severn.

In the 43rd minute, Anna Rydin found the back of the net for the first time this season, heading in a free kick by Severn.

With her second assist of the game, Severn moved to second all-time at GU with 17 career assists, four off matching the program record. The junior is sixth in program history with 55 career points. She is currently second in the Pac-12 with six goals this season, and third in assists (5) and points (17). Severn's 18 shots on goal lead the league, while her 27 shots are second.

The Zags' Samantha Snorsky is tied for second in the conference in goals (6), shots (28) and shots on goal (16). She is fourth in assists, recording her fourth of the season Sunday on a cross that Shila Rasoul headed home in the 47th minute. It was Rasoul's second goal of the season. Rasoul took a game-high six shots, one off her career high, placing four on frame.

In the 74th minute, Kalia Franklin volleyed a shot past the Montana keeper for the fourth goal of the game. Audrey Dizon and Harper Boninsegna-Mullins were both credited with assists.

The Bulldogs forced Montana's Avery Heeb into seven saves. Michaela McCollum had three saves in the GU net.

Gonzaga wraps up its non-conference schedule at Idaho (6-2-1) Friday at 7 p.m. The Vandals have won four of their last five, including a 2-0 victory at UC Davis Sunday. Friday's game in Moscow will have a live broadcast on ESPN Plus, and live stats on GoZags.com.
