Biography
Gonzaga University- Currently 2nd on the all-time 3000-meter steeplechase list. Manley had a breakout season on the track in 2016. Manley won the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Oregon Relays at the University of Oregon in a time of 9:01.16. He then ran 8:57.75 in the West Coast Invite, the #2 time in Gonzaga history which qualified him for NCAA West Regionals. At the NCAA West Regional meet Manley placed 12th in his heat and 31st overall in the West Region. Manley continued his success into the 2016 Cross Country season, where he claimed top 10 finishes in the Clash of the Inland Northwest Invitational, Idaho Dual meet, and Montana Invitational. Manley represented Gonzaga in the West Coast Conference Cross Country Championships and the NCAA West Regional Championships. After a PR of 8:21.59 in the indoor 3000m as a junior, Manley ran unattached during the 2017 outdoor season. After following the outdoor season, Manley continued his success on the course. Manley placed 36th at conference, and was the 5th scorer at the West Regionals in Seattle, WA. Manley posted a PR of 24:27.1 (#16 all-time Zag) in the 8k at the Inland Empire Challenge. This spring, Manley hosted another successful season in the steeplechase, placing 3rd in his heat at the Stanford invitational with a time of 8:51.26, a then 2nd best time in Gonzaga History, and qualifying for the NCAA West Regional in Sacramento. He then had another PR in the 5000m at the Portland Twilight meet running a 14:27.57. At the West Regional, hosted by Sacramento State, Manley, racing in heat 1, competed in the fastest heat of the day finishing 8th with another PR of 8:49.35, placing 20th overall and missing the cut for Eugene by 4.8 seconds.
High School- Graduate of Bishop Blanchet High School…personal bests of 1:59 (800), 4:19.66 (1600) and 9:28.86 (3200)
Personal- recent graduate with a Finance & Marketing degree, currently studying for his MBA. Extremely personable guy, with a knack for making friends. Favorite song is Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine. Favorite saying “Brude.”
