2023: Pitched in 12 games with three starts… Threw 27 innings with an 8.00 earned run average and three saves for the Bulldogs on the season with 28 strikeouts… Notched a career-high eight strikeouts in relief on Apr. 1 against BYU

2022: Returned from injury to debut April 19 at Missouri and pitched 16.1 innings with a 1.10 ERA and 14 strikeouts...Was unscored upon until his final inning of the season in an NCAA Tournament start at No. 7 Oklahoma State (June 5)...Pitched seven scoreless outings to begin the season.

2021: Made three starts before undergoing Tommy John surgery in March...Tossed four shutout innings in the season opener at Oral Roberts (Feb. 23), striking out five and getting the victory in his first appearance since 2018...Fanned seven batters in six innings against No. 18 Oklahoma State on March 2...Struck out 15 batters in 13.2 innings on the season with a 7.90 earned run average.

2020: Did not pitch in 2020 while recovering from injury.

2019: Buckner missed the entire season after sustaining an Achilles injury during the preseason.

2018: Established himself as a regular weekend starter as a true freshman, going 7-4 with a 4.81 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 76.2 innings of work ... Helped MSU lock up its second-consecutive Missouri Valley Conference regular-season title with league-best totals of  five victories and a .138 batting average against in MVC play ... Also posted a 3.24 ERA and 28 strikeouts—both good for sixth overall in the conference—during Valley play ... Named a Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American and second-team All-MVC choice ... Picked up his first collegiate win with 6.0 strong innings vs. Seton Hall (March 17), allowing just one run on five hits in a 14-2 decision ... Also earned a win with 5.2 shutout innings vs. CSUN (March 24), fanning five while allowing just three singles ... Struck out a career-best seven hitters in his MVC debut at Indiana State (March 30), permitting just one earned run on one hit over 5.0 frames to lock up a doubleheader sweep of the Sycamores ... Beat Evansville (April 7) the following weekend, again allowing one hit in 5.0 innings of an 8-2 victory ... Fanned seven hitters in 6.0 combined innings of back-to-back losses to Top 25 clubs in Oregon State (April 13) and Missouri (April 24) ... Turned in one of only two complete games by a Missouri State pitcher in 2018 at Bradley (April 29) to help secure a key Valley series win; held the Braves to two runs on one hit and two walks, striking out six in a 13-2 win in the rubber match in Peoria ... Held Valparaiso hitless of 4.2 innings of relief, allowing MSU time to rally for a 6-5 victory ... Defeated Southern Illinois (May 13) with 6.0 solid innings, scattering seven hits in an 8-3 victory ... Knocked off DBU (May 19) in a series-clinching 10-4 decision that secured the Valley title for MSU; struck out five Patriots in 5.2 innings to lock up his fourth straight winning decision ... Tossed 5.2 innings of the Bears 4-2 win over Indiana State (May 24) in the second round of the MVC Championship in Dallas ... Made his first postseason start vs. Saint Louis (June 3) at the Oxford Regional, striking out three in 2.0 innings ... Earned Valley Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll recognition at the conclusion of the season ... Pitched over the summer in the prestigious Cape Cod League with the Harwich Mariners, going 1-3 with a 3.73 ERA in five starts spanning 21.2 innings.
