Junior (2024): Started all eight games he played in... Registered a career-high 665 minutes, playing the full 90 minutes in four matches... Helped secure two shutouts and limited opponents to one goal in three other games... Contributed to a +7 goal differential in matches he played.

SOPHOMORE (2023): Participated in nine matches this season, starting eight of them… Had two total shots this season, with a shot on goal percentage of 50.0%... Played a career-high 90 minutes against UC San Diego, Loyola Marymount, and San Francisco… Career-high of 586 total minutes this year… Was essential in earning a shutout against San Francisco… Held teams under two goals on six different occasions…

FRESHMAN (2022): Helped Gonzaga earn three shutout this season, including against Saint Mary’s, UC San Diego, and UIW... Logged 3 shots on goal in 529 minutes this season... Tallied both a goal and an assist in Gonzaga’s 3-2 win over St. Thomas earlier this year... Led the team with 100% shot on goal percentage...

PERSONAL: Diego was developed in the Valencia CF system, playing for the La Liga academy for seven years. He currently is the captain for Alzira FB in Valencia, a successful team in the Division of Honor (highest youth league in Spain). Diego also participated in both the youth and senior Copa Del Rey tournaments earlier this year. 

"Diego is an athletic defender who has a great feel for the game," Lewis said. "He knows how to manage a line, can break lines in our possession game, and can attack going forward from the outside back position. We see him being a big key anywhere on our backline for the next several years."
